Research interest central focus is on sudden unexpected cardiac death. I am investigating the alterations of cardiac structures responsible for sudden death in the mitral valve prolapse syndrome, myocardial bridges and arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia. I am also investigating compositions and methods that reduce the time required for tissue processing and analysis. Therefore, by reducing space requirements, reagent volumes and time requirements costs can be decreased. This also allows point-of-care surgical pathology for the patient undergoing a surgical procedure. nterests are focused on general surgical pathology with emphasis in the fields that involve pathology of liver, lung, GI, and transplantation pathology.
